I am the holder of a Diploma in Translation from the Chartered Institute of Linguists, based in London. This is an internationally recognised organisation
which provides services for linguists from all professional backgrounds. The Diploma in Translation is a rigorous examination which requires candidates to produce translations in examination conditions that would
meet the stringent standards set by clients in the business world.
I am also a graduate of Cambridge University, having studied German language and literature during the years 1986 to 1990. Since then I have spent years
living in Germany and have developed the familiarity with the language and the cultural context so important for successful translation.
My work as a teacher of business English has helped me become familiar with a wide range of business contexts including pharmaceuticals, emergency aid and
charity work, the property industry, industrial relations and education.
I work with Microsoft Office software - Word, Publisher and Excel - and also use SDL Trados, which is an advanced software package used by professional
translators throughout the world and has features that ensure consistency of translation.
